64 Guest House Kokdala
Nestled in the city of Kokdala, a bastion of crop farming and plant agriculture, our guest house is surrounded by the spectacular landscapes of the Ile River, inland lakes, deserts, and mountain ranges. This area is a treasure trove of natural beauty, never ceasing to amaze.
Man-made Landscape - The town’s layout, thoughtfully aligned with the surrounding agricultural farmlands, distinguishes itself from other typical urban settings. This cohesive planning approach is reflected in our project’s design on a smaller scale. It’s an inheritance from local planning traditions that harmonizes with the farming culture and environment, ensuring continuity and resonance with community and enhance the area’s sense of belonging. By realizing the potential connection between plots, we can further strengthen the community bond and foster a greater sense of belonging within the area.
‘Cultivation’ Planning - The rejuvenation of the guesthouse plan is inspired by the pattern of cultivated farmlands, drawing from the changing hues that mirror the diversity of crops produced locally. This concept guides the project’s planning towards a deeper reflection of local culture and environment. The varying hues can be associated with different types of gardens, floral species, yards, etc. The existing building blocks will undergo extensive modifications, including additions, alterations, and new constructions, each illustrated in varied hues. This seamlessly ties into our design approach for these spaces, suggesting that the master plan of the guesthouse can incorporate many unique and interesting areas. This offers guests a richer experience, enhancing their stay with a variety of encounters that celebrate the area’s hospitality and culture.
